The Acrobats | Figurative linocut print (black/ blue gradient) - original, signed, and numbered (10/25)
"The Acrobats" | Linocut Print | 1996
Inspired by Picasso's blue and pink periods, this signed and numbered print (10/25 - varied edition) is in black ink over a blue/turquoise-inked gradient on white printmaking paper. This is the only gradient version created in the series. Paper measures 12.5" W x 14" H; printed area measures 10" W x 10.5" H. Unframed.
Linocut is a form of relief printmaking where a design is cut into the linoleum surface with the raised areas representing a reversal of the parts to show printed. The ink is rolled onto the linoleum with a brayer and run through a press. For this piece, the blue gradient was rolled onto a similar-sized blank piece of linoleum.
Limited edition - linocut no longer exists.
